Major Requirements

Starting Fall 2009 the Communication Studies Department is offering a new major.

With 4-unit upper-division courses, the new major provides students with greater flexibility and more choices to tailor their program to their specific academic and professional goals. Read more about the new major below!

Communication Studies majors earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies.  In addition to University General Education and elective requirements, students must complete at least 42 units in the major. Also, students must complete a minor. 

I. Core Courses (10 units)

II. Foundations, Inquiry, Practice Courses (FIP) (24 units)

III. Additional  COMM Courses (8 units)

TOTAL 42 units
