Students are encouraged to seek out as many internship opportunities as possible during their college careers either as volunteers, for academic credit, as part-time paying jobs or as a combination of these experiences.

Requirements for M.A and PPS Credential in Counselor Education:
To obtain the PPS Credential in School Counseling, you are required to complete 9 units of Field Experience at two public school levels totaling 600 hours through EDCO 292.
**EdCo 292 is not required for M.A candidates, but highly recommended**

EOP Specialist (SAO I) Educational Opportunity Programs/Retention Services
Under the direction of the Executive Director for Retention Services/Director for Educational Opportunity Programs (EOP), the EOP Specialist implements and coordinates student programs, special projects and administrative functions for EOP and Retention Services. The incumbent will advise students and implement student events and projects. In addition, the EOP Specialist works closely with the Director and the Lead Academic Counselor to coordinate administrative functions and special projects for EOP and Retention Services. The incumbent is readily accessible to faculty, staff, students and parents/family members and coordinates communication and student case management. In addition, the EOP Specialist works collaboratively with the team of EOP Counselors and Retention Services career and student employees to ensure high-impact operations and student services.
