Internship & Job Opportunities

Students are encouraged to seek out as many internship opportunities as possible during their college careers either as volunteers, for academic credit, as part-time paying jobs or as a combination of these experiences.

Information about internships and job opportunities will be posted here as they become available.

Requirements for M.A and PPS Credential in Counselor Education:

To obtain the PPS Credential in School Counseling, you are required to complete 9 units of Field Experience at two public school levels totaling 600 hours through EDCO 292.

**EdCo 292 is not required for M.A candidates, but highly recommended**

Scotts Valley High School is seeking a PPSC intern to support their Peer Advocates Team (PAT). The role involves the following ongoing responsibilities:
- Training and support of the 10-student PAT members to serve as peer counselors
- Communication and enhancement of key training and process documents
- Design and implementation support of PAT outreach events
- Identification of resource materials (handouts) for the most common concerns of students supported by the PAT
- Coordination of the fulfillment and documentation of PAT services requested by students 
SVHS is also in the process of implementing Naviance as a college preparation system for their students.  If the intern is able to work more than one day per week, there may be opportunity to become involved in the deployment of Naviance.
