5. Outcome (g) assessment
Outcome (g): An ability to analyze the local and global impact of computing on individuals, organizations, and society
Assessment of Outcome (g) was conducted in Philosophy 134 and the results are as follows.
Almost all students understood issues of computing in terms of global impacts on individuals, organizations, and societies. A few students had problems proposing how social inequities might be addressed.
More emphasis in cases and course material should be placed on virtues & caring ethics so that students will more readily understand that discrimination and social inequity can be resolved through conciliatory responses.
