Required Hardware and Software

All students taking computer science courses must have access to a laptop computer, and must bring this computer to class when asked to do so by the instructor. The computer's operating system does not matter, but the computer must have sufficient capacity to run all required software. It must be programmable and able to access the campus wireless network.

The department will loan students laptops for short periods of time .

Software requirements vary depending on the course. At a minimum, student laptops should have office tools (word processor, spreadsheet, presentation software), the latest Java SDK, and an integrated development environment such as Eclipse or NetBeans.
