Upcoming Important Dates:

Feb. 13: (August 2009 graduates) last day to submit approved Candidacy forms to Graduate Admissions & Program Evaluation (GAPE.)
Feb. 15: (May 2009 graduates) Deadline to file or reactivate application for graduation at GAPE.
Mar. 3: Sign up deadline for Spring 2009 MFA Exam.
Mar. 21-31: Campus closed for Spring Break and Cesar Chavez Day (March 31)
Mar. 28: (December 2009 graduates) last day to submit approved Candidacy forms to GAPE.
Apr. 1: TA and GA applications for Fall 2009 due to Graduate Coordinator.
Apr. 1: Deadline for thesis proposals to be submitted to the graduate committee (for Fall 2008 299 units).
Apr. 3: MFA comprehensive exam distributed (9:00 AM).
Apr. 6: Deadline for May graduates to submit approved theses to Graduate Studies
Apr. 6: MFA comprehensive exam due (5:00 PM).
Apr. 14: GRE Subject Test in English offered.
Apr. 15: Lurie Chair, poet, and critic, Sandra Gilbert will be speaking at two CLA events. On-stage conversation, 1:30 p.m.; reading 7:30 p.m.
May 16: MFA Graduation Reading and Celebration (Fall 2008 and Spring 2009 Grads).
Jun. 5: Last day for May 2009 graduates to submit MA and MFA thesis copies for binding.
Jun. 8: Deadline for August 2009 graduates to reactivate or file application for graduation with GAPE.
Jul. 3: Deadline for August graduates to submit approved theses to Graduate Studies.
