• Awards and Scholarships for Creative Writing

• Awards for Excellence in Literature Studies

• Simon Winchester Nonfiction Writing Award: "The Joy of English" (Win an Oxford English Dictionary) | Entry Form - Deadline: April 8, 2005

• The Academy of American Poets/ Virginia de Araujo Prize | Entry Form - Deadline: April 3, 2007

Eligible students must be registered for 6 or more units during Spring of the year applying. Some awards require students to have completed a minimum of 24 semester units at San Jose State University. Further information and application forms may be obtained in the English Department, Faculty Office Building 102.
