* The Poetry (240) and Fiction (241) workshops are closed to MySJSU and require a permission code from the English department and will be distributed according to the priority number sent via email to each student. Contact Remy or Gabby at the English Department office for the code: (408) 924-4425

** ENGL 254 and ENGL 255 are good courses for MFA students who wish to take literature seminars this semester. 254 is a seminar on the development of American fiction from the 19th to the 20th century; 255 is a seminar on California Literature.

  • MFA students may enroll for credit toward graduation in ENGL 130: Fiction Writing and ENGL 131: Poetry Writing, if it isn't possible to enroll in a graduate workshop
  • MFA students may also enroll for credit toward graduation in ENGL 132: Advanced Creative Writing/Non Fiction Writing.
