5th Annual SJSU Day of Service

The San Jose State community is participating in its 5th Annual Day of Service event on November 4, 2011.
This event brings together students, staff, and faculty to enhance the area surrounding SJSU through projects that will be largely educational and enrichment based in schools, community centers, neighborhoods and museums. There may also be opportunities for neighborhood improvement and beautification projects. Organizers will place volunteers at the community sites based on greatest need.
Participants should have the appropriate clothing; i.e. closed toe shoes (athletic shoes or work boots), durable work clothes, hat and/or sun protection, or rain gear. Also, dressing in layers,t-shirt, sweatshirt will ensure comfort depending on the weather. Absolutely NO flip flops, open-toed shoes,sandals, or shorts. Participants should bring a backpack or tote bag to carry your lunch or unused clothing items.
Please join us on for Check-in, Opening Ceremony and Breakfast which will begin at 8:00 am on Tower Lawn on the San Jose State University campus.
At check-in you will pick-up your name tag. You will need a name tag to pick-up your t-shirt (if you ordered one) and your lunch.
Day of Service is rain or shine!!!!
Schedule for the day:
8:00am: Check-In, Breakfast and Opening Ceremony
8:35am: Depart to project sites
9:00am: Work Begins at Project Sites
1:30pm: Reflection at Project Site and Return to Campus
