Lt Colonel MoxleyLieutenant Colonel Moxley is Commander of Detachment 045, Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps and the Professor of Aerospace Studies at San Jose State University, California.  He is responsible for the recruiting, education, training, motivation, selection, and commissioning of officer candidates through a comprehensive college program. Detachment 045 serves AFROTC cadets from nine different colleges and universities in the Silicon Valley region.

Lt Col Moxley received his commission in 1992 as a distinguished graduate of the AFROTC program at Clarkson University in Potsdam, New York.  In 1993 he graduated from undergraduate weapons controller school at Tyndall Air Force Base, Florida and has since been qualified in multiple crew positions on E-3A/B/C aircraft, the Falconer Air Operations Center, and the ROCC/SOCC system.  A Senior air battle manager with approximately 2,700 flying hours, Lt Col Moxley has provided direct combat support, both airborne and on the ground, for contingency, counter-narcotic and joint staff directed operations to include SOUTHERN WATCH, PROVIDE COMFORT, ENDURING FREEDOM, and enforcing the ceasefire armistice on the Korean Peninsula.  Before taking command of Detachment 045, Lt Col Moxley was the Program Manager for the Midterm Modernization of the entire fleet of NATO E-3A aircraft at NATO Airbase, Geilenkirchen, Germany.
