| Melinda Jackson, Ph.D., joins the SJSU faculty this year after earning her Ph.D. at the University of Minnesota in 2005. Her interests center on public opinion and political participation in American Politics, with a special focus on political psychology and political identity. She has co-authored a chapter in Polls and Politics (2004) about the Nixon administration’s use of public opinion polls, as well as several journal articles on the role of social capital in community electronic networks. In her “free time” she enjoys playing with her wonderful and amazing one-year-old daughter. A native of northern California, she is very happy to be back in the Bay Area and looks forward to seeing flowers in February this year instead of snowdrifts.
