March 2000. Dean's Small Grant of $750 to purchase a portable light sheet for research on watermarks in paper.
July 1998-June 2000. Co-director, Beethoven Bibliography Database. Grant of $91,000 from the David and Lucile Packard Foundation for continuation of the project.
December 1997. Grant of $4,000 from the CSU-Research Founds to produce a descriptive bibliography and guide to Beethoven manuscripts located in the United States (work to begin in Fall 1998).
November 1997. Grant of $1,500 from the Lottery Funds, Professional Development Program, San Jose State University, for a research trip to the Staatsbibliothek zu Berlin and the British Library.
April 1996-June 1998. Co-director, Beethoven Bibliography Database project. Grant of $48,500 from the David and Lucile Packard Foundation and matching funds from the American Beethoven Society for continuation of the project.
January 1993- . Co-director, Beethoven Bibliography Database project. Grants from the Eva B. Buck Trust, San Jose State University, and the American Beethoven Society, with matching funds of $67,500 from the National Endowment for the Humanities for Stages 4 and 5 of the Beethoven Bibliography Project.
July 1991-December 1992. Co-director, Beethoven Bibliography Database project. Grants totalling $10,560 to support development of special database on the Innopac system. Responsible for database profiling to suit the special needs of the project.
October 1990-September 1991. Principal investigator, grant of $47,521 from the California State Library, Library Services and Construction Act, Title III: Conversion of Holdings; with in-kind support of $56,223 from San Jose State University, for OCLC cataloging of the Beethoven Center's collection.
April 1990. $2,000 from the School of Library and Information Science and the San Jose State University Foundation, Grant Development Program for consultation with Dr. Elaine Svenonius, UCLA, on indexing and thesaurus construction for the Beethoven Bibliography Database.
