Ryan received his BA in Electro/Acoustic music
from San Jose State University, studying primarily
under Professor Pablo
Furman. He has composed electronic
music that has been performed at numerous festivals,
including The Sound of Israeli Art Music Festival
in Germany, 1997, and the International
Computer Music Conference (ICMC) held in Michigan,
1998. In 1999, Ryan was commissioned as the
chief audio engineer for SEAMUS 99 (Society
for Electro-Acoustic Music in the United States). Some
of his compositions have also been placed on
the compilation CD Music From Cream - CDCM
Computer Music Series.
Ryan started his career in the entertainment
industry as music and sound effects designer
for Frontline Productions, a developer of animation
and effects-laden PC games.There he acquired
valuable video editing and compositing skills
and eventually became the head of post-production.
Under his direction, Frontline created the
PC trailer MetalWerks which won the 1996 Siggraph
Award for Best Animated Sequence. He has since
then worked with clients such as Sony, Pepsi,
Pizza Hut, Sega and Hewlett Packard just to
name a few.
Recently, Ryan has ventured out on his own, creating
the 3D animation and content company Secret Weapon. The company is currently
in production on original animated short films
to be broadcast over the web.
