Required Online Lab for ECON 1A & 1B Courses

Microeconomics (ECON 1B) and Macroeconomics (ECON 1A) courses at SJSU are 4 unit courses. They consist of a 3 units of regular lecture, with a 1 unit (approximately 2 hours per week) ONLINE lab that must be taken with the lecture. The lab portion is completely online so you only have to worry about the in-person lecture meeting time. To register for any introductory economics course, you must register for both the Lecture section and the Activity section simultaneously.  This is a ground course so you receive the access code for the online portion from the instructor on the first day that classes meet.

ECON 2A & ECON 2B Online Labs

These online labs ECON 2A and ECON 2B are offered each Fall and Spring Semester. These are 1 unit, credit/no credit online labs. They are designed for economics majors who need to make-up a missing unit and for other students who need to a quick refresher in economics. The labs are also available to transfer students who have 3 semester-unit Macroeconomics and Microeconomics courses at other colleges and universities. The labs will fulfill the SJSU Economics Department's requirement for 4 units in each of these courses.

The courses consist of online readings and problem-set questions. Problem-set questions are divided into practice questions and graded questions. You can see the results of the practice questions immediately but will have to wait until the assignment due date to see the results of the graded questions. The courses are completely online and run for 8 weeks at approximately 3 hours per week.

There is a computer fee for this course. Before entering the course you will be prompted for payment. There is a 21-day grace period for this course. So you have time to enter the course, review the syllabus, and check the material. If you decide to drop the course within the 21 days, you can get a refund of your computer fee.
