Help Us Reach Our Goals

Thank you for your interest in helping the Department of Economics disseminate the principles of market economics and develop student ability to critically assess domestic and international public policy.

Our goal of becoming the premier, market process economics department on the West Coast is a lofty one. But we have already obtained the key ingredient -- a critical mass of dynamic, young faculty working with experienced scholars within a cohesive department. Our reputation is spreading and drawing increasing numbers of talented graduate and undergraduate students. The energy, the momentum, and the talent are here. To achieve the goal we need additional support for our K-12 teacher education program, for student scholarships and for the David S. Saurman Provocative Lecture Series . We need to build on the existing faculty talent by funding the visiting scholars program, establishing endowed chairs and creating a post-doctoral program.
