SJSU Environmental Forum
Thursday, December 16, 1999
1530-1630, SCI 127
MINUTES

Meeting called to order at 1530. Present: D. Jaehne, R. Keady, G. Selter

Announcements: L. Rowntree reported following the 11/18 meeting that Curriculum and Assessment had approved the remaining component of the Environmental Health and Safety degree program and sent it to the Provost for final approval.

Discussion: Owing to the lateness of the semester and the limited number of Forum members able to attend this meeting, discussion was brief. We continued to discuss possible speakers and approaches for the Spring event. We discussed support for and possible involvement in Earth Day events on campus. We learned that Chet Bowers will be speaking on campus again as part of Earth Day, sponsored this time by the College of Education, speaking on the Greening of the Educational Curriculum.

Spring Meetings: We agreed that it is important to maintain the Forum's momentum and that an early and aggressive start in Spring term will be important. Therefore, we agreed that Diane Koperniak in the College of Science office will begin to contact members in mid-January to do advance scheduling for an early meeting. We will follow-up just when school begins.

The meeting adjourned at 1615.
