At the Forum's first Spring Lecture in March 1999, Stephen H. Schneider talked on "Global Warming Debate: Real Science or Media Hype." Schneider is an internationally renowned expert on global climate change, 1992 MacArthur Fellow, consultant to every President from Nixon to Clinton, founding editor of Climate Change, author of Laboratory Earth: The Planetary Gamble We Can't Afford to Lose, Professor in Stanford University's Biological Sciences Department, and a Senior Fellow at the Institute for International Studies. The Forum's second Spring 1999 Lecture, also in March, was by Bunyan Bryant, who talked on "Environmental Justice: History, Present and Future." Bryant is director of the Center for Environmental Justice at the University of Michigan. the Spring 2000 Public Lecture by Chet Bowers in Morris Dailey Auditorium
in April: "The Practice of Eco-Justice Pedagogy"
