The Delta serves as a major water source for approximately two-thirds of the state

• Most of drinking water in California (from the Bay Area to Los Angeles where the heavy population centers are) passes through the Delta
• Most of farmland also relies water to/from Delta (Delta-Mendota Canal is primarily for Agriculture purposes)
