Good-bye Letter to IT Alumni and Community The widespread economic crisis has affected the SJSU College of Education and specifically the Department of Instructional Technology. Over the past few years, the IT Department has experienced a declining enrollment in our technology cohorts and business/industry student populations. These conditions have also been noted in nearby program at San Francisco State University. With the State institutions of higher education being seriously under-funded, the State budget in collapse, and the world economy in crisis, coupled with declining enrollments in the IT Department, the College of Education made the difficult decision to close the Instructional Technology Department effective May 2009. It is with deep regret and sense of loss that I convey this sad news to you, the loyal IT Alumni and Community.
