Lesson 4:
Changing Views of Teaching and Learning: Constructivism

 

  • Mini-lecture PowerPoint 4 - "Assumptions About Learning"

  • Direct students to visit extensively at two web sites which encourage the integration of a constructivist viewpoint toward teaching and learning and the use of technology in the classroom. Specifically visit:
  • After students have visited the sites, hold a class discussion. Focus questions for the class discussion should include:
    Do you find evidence of a constructivist learning environment at both sites? Does each site have tasks? Groups? Sharing?
    How are the activities at the sites alike?
    How are the activities at the sites different?
