Professional Experience

  • Instructional Design Consultant Intern (June-August 2001)
    Innovative Learning, Andersen, St. Charles, IL
    Managed MS project work plan for 3-month, $150k project. Analyzed progress tracking, produced reports, revised work plan as needed, implemented online communication of work plan with all team members via online project management software (eProject). Designed and developed instructional materials (trainer's guide and presentation slides) for a 2-hour technical training session.
  • Manager, Academic Technology Lab. (March 1998-August 1999)
    Stanford University, Stanford, CA
    Designed, developed, and delivered workshops on HTML, project planning, digital Video, and multimedia. Developed templates and guidelines for educational Web Site design, electronic portfolios, digital video systems, and software applications. Managed the Academic Technology Lab facility and resources to support faculty sponsored multimedia and hypermedia projects for research, teaching, or learning.
  • Computing Information Systems Analyst. (July 1993-March 1998)
    Communication Services, Stanford University
    Managed multimedia design projects. Consulted on computer and network infrastructure projects. Recommended and acquired software and hardware products for business productivity. Installed and supported computers and network systems. Coordinated assignments for and supervised two staff members. Developed FileMaker and mainframe databases.
  • Human Performance Technologist. (February 1992- July 1993)
    Independent Consultant, Sunnyvale, CA
    Designed, developed, and implemented training for Macintosh hardware and software skills. Analyzed computer systems and networks. Provided help desk technical support. Created print materials utilizing graphic design skills for identity, marketing collateral, and publications.

Faculty Brief

Steve McGriff is completing his doctoral studies at The Pennsylvania State University. He has extensive background in multimedia design, educational graphics, and web-based learning environments. He has worked in numerous higher education and corporate settings; primarily as a project manager and/or instructional designer.
