The Institute sponsors activities such as:
Monthly, during the fall and spring semesters, the ISREE invites the approximately eight hundred students from the Professional and Business Ethics classes to attend a lecture on topics such as socially responsible investing, toxics, sexual harassment, and conflict of interest. These lectures are free and open to the public. Some of the past speakers ISREE has sponsored or co-sponsored: Ralph Nader, consumer advocate, "Tools of Democracy"; Zoe Lofgren, USA Representative, "How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love Congress"; Frances Conley, Stanford University Medical School, "Ruminations of an Academic Maverick; Cuatemoc Cardenas, Mayor of Mexico City and Mexican Presidential Candidate, Silicon Valley Forum, "Mexico's Future." Martin Luther King III "My Father's Dream"; Reverend Cecil Williams, Glide Memorial Church, "No Hiding Place"; Harry Wu, human rights activist, "State Secrets Revealed: Conditions in the Chinese Forced Labor Camps"; Robert Caret, President SJSU, "University and Social Responsibility".
