Dolores Huerta, President of the Dolores Huerta Foundation &
a Co-Founder of the United Farm Workers of America (UFW), Jun 30, 04
This unjust deportation of the Cuevas family is a reflection of our unjust immigration policy. It does not make any kind of logical sense to deport people who are making a positive contribution to our society. This family typifies the American Dream of self sufficiency and achievement. What message are we sending to the world when we say we want to bring "DEMOCRACY AND FREEDOM" to the world, yet our government punishes those within our borders who exemplify what we preach?
