Annabel Page graduated in 1996 from Norwich School of Art and Design, with a Ba (Hons) degree in Graphic Design specializing in animation. Her final film "Waking Garamundi" was screened at the Cardiff International Film Festival that same year. Initially she worked at the Video game company Sony Psygnosis as an animator and modeler, and it was this position that provided her first real introduction to 3D animation. The experience was a stepping-stone into Post Production at FrameStore in London, where she was was fortunate enough to be involved in two Hallmark productions "10th Kingdom" and "Arabian Nights.” At FrameStore she also contributed her talents to the Emmy-award winning "Walking with Dinosaurs.” Both games and Post Production allowed Ms. Page the opportunity to become an all rounder, working sometimes as a modeler, texture artist, effects animator, and character animator combined. Nevertheless, Animation was her passion, and she was determined to work exclusively as a Character Animator. This was the driving force behind relocation to New Zealand, and her position as a Character Animator for Weta Digital on "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy. The experience she gained at Weta was immeasurable. Working with great artists and directors, having the rare opportunity to sit down with Peter Jackson is something she will always treasure. Ms. Page’s professional experiences now inform her teaching at SJSU. “After having two children I have another great opportunity, to impart these experiences and knowledge to students at SJSU who have the same passion as I for animation and storytelling.”
