The DREAM Act (acronym for Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors) is legislation at the state level.

California DREAM Act

This California law extends eligibility for certain types of state financial aid to undocumented students who qualify for a non-resident tuition exemption under AB 540. As an undocumented student, you may be eligible for state aid as well as private scholarships. Undocumented students are ineligible for federal aid (including federal loans, grants and work-study).

Federal DREAM Act

First proposed in 2001, a federal DREAM Act is once again under discussion, as the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program has been rescinded and no new applications will be approved.
