The Center for Accesible Technology (CAT) is a vital program within the Disability Resource Center (DRC) that is committed to assisting students with disabilities to achieve the skills needed to pursue their academic programs. The center is available to students of San Jose State University who are registered with the DRC.

Located on the second floor of the King Library, the CAT is one of the largest adaptive computing centers in the country. The Center utilizes the latest adaptive hardware and software with approximately thirty accessible stations and trained staff.

Mission

CAT staff provide one-on-one and small group training on adaptive computers and specialized software. Students and employees referred for training learn to utilize adaptive technology and subsequently mainstream to PC labs throughout the campus where the same adaptations are provided, insuring equal access.
