Students can also complete a supervised independent study (Econ 180) for course credit.  The requirements for earning three units of credit for Econ 180 are similar to those for writing an Honor's Thesis but the course is graded pass fail and students need only earn a 75% or higher on their final paper.  To apply for a permission code, students complete the same Independent Study Application Form for the Honors Thesis Section of Econ 180 and email it to Associate Professor Matthew Holian (matthew.holian@sjsu.edu) who will follow up promptly notifying you whether your application meets all of the requirements.
