Economics Convocation Ceremony and Reception
The Department of Economics cordially invites Economics undergraduate and master students to a private Department ceremony on
Wednesday, May 17th, 2017
at Morris Dailey Auditorium.
Doors open for guest seating at 4:45p.m
Graduates line-up for the professional at 5:00p
All graduates attending the department (and the university-wide) graduation must wear regalia. You can purchase regalia from the Spartan Bookstore Graduation Center. The cost for master's regalia typically costs around $75 - 90 including the gown, cap, hood, and tassel. The hood color for MA is white and gold for MS and the tassel is black. Cost is approxiately $45 for Bachelor's set with the cream tassel. Please note that the master's gown is different from a undergraduate gown. Regaia is normally availble at the Bookstore in April, but you can call (408) 924-1802 to confirm and check availability.
Event tickets are available for purchase for $15.00. Graduating students are free, but all other guests, including current students, must purchase a ticket. This covers the reception costs. Children 10 and under are free. Last day for online ticket sales in on Wednesday, May 10th, 2017.
Spartan Stadium/ University-wide Commencement Information
San Jose State University will also hold a graduation ceremony for all students who graduated Summer '16, Fall'16 and Spring '17. The event will be held Saturday, May 27, 2017 at Spartan Stadium. The event starts at 9:00 a.m. (graduates must arrive at 8:00 a.m. to line up) and lasts until approximately 11:00 a.m. There is no cost to attend and no tickets are required (the stadium seats 31,000 people so there will be plenty of room)
