The Preliminary Administrative Services Credential (Tier 1)

You are eligible for the Credential if you ...

• hold a California teaching, pupil personnel, health, librarian or clinical rehabilitative services credential,
  
  
• have three years of experience in a position requiring one of those credentials,
  
  
• pass the California Basic Educational Skills Test (CBEST), and
  
  
• complete a Preliminary Administrative Services Credential Program.
  

Core Courses (24 units)

The first tier program requires that you earn 30 semester units of credit over four semesters through core courses and fieldwork. All students participate in our credential program in cohort groups, thereby developing close faculty/student relationships.

Administrative Field Work

During your second year in the program, you apply your administrative skills in real world settings through EdAd 242B, Administrative Field Work. You will earn 6 units of credit over 2 semesters.

Assessment

In your final semester, you will present a portfolio to your work supervisor and university advisor as representation of your knowledge, skills, attitudes and behaviors in educational administration.
