Accreditation

The California Commision on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) accredits the Lurie College of Education credential programs.


Lurie College Offers 19 Credential Programs

 

Internship Credentials

Paid internships while a student is enrolled in a credential program

  • Education Specialist Internship (with a focus on Early Childhood Special Education, Mild/Moderate Disabilities, or Moderate/Severe Disabilities)
  • Multiple Subject Internship
  • Single Subject Internship
  • Pupil Personnel Services (PPS) Internship
  • Administrative Services Internship (only for individuals who already hold a Clear teaching credential and have 5+ years of teaching experience)

 

Preliminary Teaching Credentials

A credential to work in a school

  • Education Specialist Preliminary (with a focus on Early Childhood Special Education, Mild/Moderate Disabilities, or Moderate/Severe Disabilities)
  • Multiple Subject Preliminary
  • Single Subject Preliminary
  • Speech Pathology Preliminary
  • Administrative Services Preliminary/Certificate of Eligibility (only for individuals who already hold a Clear teaching credential and have 5+ years of teaching experience)

 

Clear Credentials:

Entry level advanced credentials

  • Pupil Personnel Services (PPS) Clear (School Counseling)
  • Pupil Personnel Services (PPS) Clear (Social Work)

 

Clear Credentials: 

An advanced credential for individuals who already hold a preliminary teaching credential 

  • Education Specialist Clear (with a focus on Early Childhood Special Education, Mild/Moderate Disabilities, or Moderate/Severe Disabilities)
  • Speech Pathology Clear
  • Teacher Librarian Services Clear
  • Reading & Literacy Leadership Specialist

 

Added Authorizations

A specialization in a specific topic added to an Education Specialist Clear credential

  • Autism Spectrum Disorders
  • Early Childhood Special Education
  • Adapted Physical Education
