Mission Statement

The purpose of the San Jose State University Connie L. Lurie College of Education Alumni Board is to support the alumni students, faculty, and staff at the College. This purpose is accomplished through a variety of activities, events, and fundraisers. Our main project is the Honoring a Teacher Program at the One-Room Schoolhouse at History San Jose at Kelly Park. In addition, on an annual basis, we provide scholarships to students, grants to the faculty, and celebrate with alumni at special events. We continue to raise the visibility of the College of Education, and promote the goals and priorities of the Dean.

The Alumni Board is governed by a 20-person Alumni Board which is comprised of a combination of alumni and College faculty members. All members of th e Board are dues paying members to the local Alumni Board and the National Alumni Board. Many boards members are active in various Alumni Assoication activities, including the National Board of Directors and the Santa Clara Valley Alumni Chapter. The Board meets monthly during the academic year to plan and coordinate Alumni Board activities.
