The purpose of the Connie L. Lurie College of Education Alumni Association is to support the alumni, students, faculty, and staff of the San José State University Connie L. Lurie College of Education. This purpose is accomplished through a variety of activities and work, including the Honored Teachers Gallery at History San José in Kelley Park, providing scholarships to students, supporting alumni in their first year of teaching, a homecoming celebration, and promoting the work and majors of the College.
The Alumni Association is governed by a 20-person Alumni Board which is comprised of a combination of alumni and College faculty members. All members of the Board are dues paying members of the San José State University National Alumni Association, and many are active in various Alumni Association activities, including the National Board of Directors and the Santa Clara Valley Alumni Chapter. The Board meets monthly during the academic year to plan and coordinate Alumni Board activities.
