![]() | Marion Cilker Scholarship for Infusing Art into EducationA 1939 graduate of the College of Humanities and the Arts, Marion Cilker has a family long-connection with San José State University. Her mother and aunts also graduated from San José State University when it was San José Normal School. This scholarship was established for teachers-in-training who are committed to the teaching and using the fine arts, performing arts, and art history in K – 12 schools. In making this endowment, she hopes to sustain the vitally important work of the College of Education with their focus on education and preparing teachers for the region. The Marion Cilker Scholarship for Infusing Art into Education Fund offers scholarships to teachers in training. Eligible students must have a GPA of 3.0 or above. Student must commit to teaching and using fine arts and/or performing arts in K-12 Schools. Recipients will provide leadership and participate in the annual Marion Cilker Conference for Arts in Education. Award recipients are required to attend a reception in May 2011 (date to be announced). If not able to attend, award will be given to the first alternate.
