Pre-College Programs

The Pre-College Programs (PCP) have a long history of fostering student success and accessibility into higher education in Silicon Valley. Both Upward Bound and Educational Talent Search, members of Federal TRIO Programs, work with schools, parents, and community organizations to provide a comprehensive network of services, that help participants develop the skills and motivation necessary to complete high school and enter and complete program of post secondary education.

Center for Reaching and Teaching the Whole Child

The Center furthers the Connie L. Lurie College of Education's mission of fostering excellence and equity in our schools by focusing attention on the social-emotional dimension of teaching and learning and its relationship to academic achievement. The Center collaborates with professional education programs for teachers, administrators, and school counselors; K-12 schools; Bay Area resource program providers; and parents to raise awareness, advance research, and encourage practice in schools that reflects the current knowledge base about the social-emotional dimension of learning and its implications for educational practice.
