Lurie College Promise Group

The Promise Group was established to create opportunities for first generation students and those who are part of the SJSU Spartan Scholars, Guardian Scholars, or Educational Opportunity Program to participate in a year-long personal, academic, and professional development experience.  

Lurie College undergraduate students who are Child & Adolescent Development (ChAD) or Communicative Disorders & Sciences (CD&S) majors at SJSU and can participate in a twice monthly group seminar are eligible to join - contact donna.bee-gates@sjsu.edu for more information!

Student Ambassadors are dedicated to welcoming new and prospective students, creating a strong college community, and exploring pre-professional networking opportunities. Special Education Department American Sign Language ASL Club

ASL at SJSU

The American Sign Language (ASL) at SJSU organization has been established for students to explore their interest in learning ASL before moving forward to register for the EDSE 014A: American Sign Language I course, to promote the usage of ASL in the SJSU community, and to provide a safe and non-prejudice environment for the deaf community. Child and Adolescent Development Department ChAD Student Club

Child and Adolescent Development (ChAD) Club

The ChAD club is a student-run organization that is open to all interested students, alumni, and faculty in the Child & Adolescent Development department.  The club has a bulletin board outside of SH 201 where information about activities is posted. Communicative Disorders and Sciences Department NSSLHA Chapter

Communicative Disorders and Sciences National Student Speech Language Hearing Association Chapter

The National Student Speech Language Hearing Association (NSSLHA) is a national organization for undergraduate and/or graduate students who are interested in the study of speech language pathology and/or audiology. It is the only organization of its kind recognized by the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA). Founded in 1972, NSSLHA now has over 18,000 members and local chapters at more than 285 colleges and universities.

The Silicon Valley's local chapter was founded at San Jose State University in 1977. SJSU NSSLHA members are active in fundraising and community service, and attend various educational programs such as guest lectures and regional, state and national conferences.  Visit the NSSLHA website for more information.
