Application PacketTo be considered complete, an application packet must contain all items listed below: 1. Department Application FormAvailable at a Group Advisement Session, in an online version of the Advisement Guide or separately as a PDF/Word file2. Application FeeCash or check for $25 written to SJSU Elementary Education.3. TranscriptsTwo complete sets of official transcripts for every college and university attended.(For information on foreign transcripts, please consult the Director of Admissions and Advisement in the Elementary Education Office.)4. CBEST or EquivalentA copy of the full page including passing scores, or a copy of the registration date for the next test date. (Information on equivalents is available at www.cbest.nesinc.com)5. EssayA personal statement, one to two pages long, on "Why I want to become a teacher".6. Current Resume7. Letters of Recommendation3 letters from such persons as professors, coworkers, managers, or supervisors who have seen your work with children or can speak to your potential as a teacher.8. Document Pre-Professional Experience50 hours required, at least a portion which should be in a K-8 classroom
In addition, at appropriate times, the credential file should contain documents verifying the following:1. CSET Scores2. U.S. Constitution 3. Technology Level 1 – either test or course 4.
