Back to Multiple Subject Credential
Where Do I Start?
1. Attend a Group Advisement Session:
These orientation sessions, held twice a month, are required of all students who wish to enroll the Multiple Subject Credential Program. For information regarding
upcoming sessions, click here for a schedule or call the Elementary Education Department at 408-924-3771.
If you live outside the Bay Area, please study the Advisement Guide for program requirements, and admission information; then contact the Director of Admissions at jgrodeon@aol.com.
2. Get Your Application Packet Ready:
After attending an advisement
session, you will have a clear picture of the structure of the Multiple Subject
Credential Program. When you make a decision about joining the program,
start building your "Application Packet" for submission to
the Department of Elementary Education in SH 305.
3. Apply to the Program and Have an Interview with the Advisor:
When you have your application
packet ready, please call 408-924-3771 to schedule an interview appointment
with the Director of Admissions and Advisement. You may either mail the Application Packet to the Elementary
Education Department before the interview or bring it with you.
4. Apply to SJSU Graduate School:
The second part of the application process is to submit an online University application to San Jose State University via www.csumentor.edu.
You will be given access sometime after your initial interview with the Director of Admission and Advisement of the Elementary Education Department. It is very important to submit this online application
as soon as you are given permission, as putting it off will delay your
admission to the university which will result in registration hold ups.
