M.A. Colloquium

The MA Research Colloquium is a major component in students’ culminating MA experience, and participation in the Research Colloquium is required in order for you to receive the MA degree. Candidates who are completing their MA programs present their research at this Colloquium. Sample abstracts from previous colloquiums can be read here.

The 2008 MA Research Colloquium will be held on Wednesday, May 14, 2008 from 3:45-8:00 p.m. in Sweeney Hall. Please read the attached Call for Participation.  Then, complete the MA Research Colloquium Presentation Proposal Form, and return it to Ha Thai via e-mail at htai6@email.sjsu.edu by Monday, April 14, 2008.

We hope that the colloquium will result in lots of discussion between presenters and participants, so we will set up the rooms to facilitate interaction.  When planning for your session, please do what you can to encourage interaction between you, other presenters, and audience members. 

You are welcome to invite friends and family members to attend the colloquium.  It’s important, however, that you let us know how many people will be attending so that enough refreshments are available.  Please make sure to complete this item on the Presentation Proposal form.

Details about the colloquium will be sent to you once we have finalized the program.  We are looking forward very much to learning about your research and celebrating your accomplishments on May 14, 2008.
