These advisement sessions, held twice a month, are required of all students who wish to enroll the Multiple Subject Credential Program. For information regarding upcoming sessions, check the Advisement Session Schedule or call the Elementary Education Department at 408-924-3771. Download the Advisement Guide and bring with you to the Advising Session.
NOTE: Candidates must apply to both the University (step 2 below) and the Elementary Education Department (step 3 below). These are separate applications, and admission to one does not guarantee admission to the other.

Please submit one set of official transcripts from each institution listed on your application to the address below. If San Jose State was last institution attended, transcripts are not required, however, transcripts are required for the department application (step 3).

After attending an advisement session, you will have a better understanding of the admission requirements and appication process for the Multiple Subject Credential Program. When you make a decision about joining the program, start building your Application Packet for submission to the Department of Elementary Education. You may mail it to us or drop it off in person in Sweeney Hall 305. Please use the checklist and make sure all required documents are included in your application packet. Incomplete applications will not be accepted or reviewed.
Spring 2012 Department Application DEADLINE: December 1, 2011
Applicants who pass the paper screening process will be invited for an admissions interview and will be notified of acceptance to the program within 2-4 weeks.
