Admission Requirements

  1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university.
  2. A minimum 3.0 overall grade point average.
  3. Prerequisite coursework is required in the following three areas:
    - Second Language Acquisition (e.g., EDTE 162 or EDTE 262)
    - Socio-Cultural Foundations of Literacy (e.g., EDEL 103, EDTE 208 or EDSE 172)
    - Introduction to Literacy Instruction (e.g., EDEL 108A or EDSE 138A).
  4. A valid teaching credential.
  5. An interview/orientation will be scheduled after an initial evaluation of the application materials.
  6. A score of 550 on the TOEFL (foreign students only).
  7. Additional Requirements for International Students (International Students may have earlier University document deadlines).

NOTE: GRE is not a requirement
