How to Register for the Technology Test: Fill out a Technology Test Registration Form (PDF).

Students may register for the test in Sweeney Hall 305 or by mailing the completed form to:

  • Initial Test - $60.00
  • Retake - One section $15.00, Two sections $30.00

money order or personal checks are accepted. Make money order payable to: ELED Student Fund. CASH WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED (New as of 10/29/2013).

Test Registration Confirmation: Payment receipt and test day instructions will be issued at the time of registration or by email for mail-in registration.

NEW Test Cancellation/Rescheduling Policy: A 2-day notice is required to cancel or reschedule a confirmed test date. A Friday test date will require notice by Tuesday, 5pm and a Saturday test date will require notice by Wednesday, 5pm. Call the office at (408)924-3771 to advise of your change in plans. Refunds and/or credits will not be given without the 2-day notification. Any tests rescheduled more than two times will require an additional payment.

Test Competency Requirement: The State of California requires proof of competency in all (8) technology tasks as a requirement for a teaching credential.

Retakes: Test retakes are available for up to 2 failed sections of the intial test and must be taken within 3 months of the initial test date. Retakes will require a new registration form and a $15.00 fee for each section. You may only sign up once for a retake. Failing a retake will result in a recommendation to complete a course to satisfy the Level I Technology Requirement.

PC or MAC: While efforts are made to match students to operating systems (Mac or PC) it is not possible to guarantee students the computer operating system of their choice. No student is guaranteed a Mac or a PC. Please report 30 minutes ahead of time on test day. Tests are given in Industrial Studies, room 134
