Membership

Membership Categories

Regular membership is open to emeritus professors and emeritus librarians of all ranks at San Jose State University and to lecturers who have retired under CalPERS . These individuals become regular members of the Association upon certification of their emeritus status by the University and by payment of annual dues (first year membership is free).

Associate membership is open to those individuals holding emeritus academic status in other accredited institutions of higher learning, spouses of deceased San Jose State University emeritus faculty members, faculty participating in the Faculty Early Retirement Program (FERP), counselors, lecturers, and members of the San Jose State University administration. Associate members have the same rights and privileges in the organization as regular members and pay the same dues as regular members. To download a list of current members (pdf) click here.

Dues

Dues are $15 annually and are collected in June of each year.

Application

To apply for membership print an application form. Next, send the completed form and your dues to the membership chair indicated on the application.

Listserv (email distribution list)

An internet distribution list (SJSU_EFA@yahoo.com)provides members with important association and emeriti faculty information. This list is an automated email list. Messages posted to the list are automatically sent to all email addresses of all list subscribers. Anybody who is subscribed to the list can post a message. This list is unmoderated so that a posted message is immediately sent out to everyone on the list – no one approves or edits messages posted by members. Only members subscribed to the list can post messages.

To join the SJSU_EFA email list send an email message to Carol Christensen at chriwolf@pacbell.net and provide your name and email address. You will receive an email message confirming that you have been added to the listserv.
