Sept. 11: Deadline for Fall 2017 graduates to submit MFA or MA Thesis completed draft to Thesis Director.
Sept. 10: Deadline for December 2016 graduates to file or reactivate application for graduation with GAPE.
Sept. 22: Reed Magazine 150th Anniversary Issue Launch.
Sept. 29: MFA Comprehensive Exam distributed (9 a.m.).
Oct. 2: MFA Comprehensive Exam due (5 p.m.).
Sept. 30: Deadline for December graduates to submit MFA and MA theses to second and third readers.
Oct. 1: Deadline for May 2017 graduates to file Departmental Request for Candidacy form.
Oct. 27: Deadline to submit thesis proposals for Spring 2018 credits to Grad Committee.
Nov. 3: Deadline for December 2017 graduates to submit thesis for review by GS&R.
Dec. 15: Deadline to sign up for the Spring 2017 MFA Exam for MFA students planning to graduate in May, August, or December 2017.
Jan. 14, 2018: Thesis publication or request publishing embargo deadline.
Feb. 10, 2018: Deadline for May 2018 graduates to file or reactivate application for graduation with GAPE.

Sept. 22: 7 p.m. – Reed Magazine 150th Anniversary Gala – Celebrate the sesquicentennial of the West's oldest literary journal in Morris Dailey Auditorium. Reception in the Bell Rose Garden adjacent to Tower Hall.
Oct. 18: 7 p.m. – Viet Thanh Nguyen (Houston Lecture) Winner of the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction for The Sympathizer – Reading and Conversation with Andrew Lam at the Hammer Theatre. VIP Reception to follow.
Nov. 8: 7 p.m. – William Finnegan (Cox Lecture) Winner of the Pulitzer Prize for Nonfiction for Barbarian Days – Reading and Conversation with Steve Kettmann at Cafe Stritch. Reception to follow with cash bar.
