EOP Strives to Help students be successful!
It is of upmost importance to start your undergraduate studies on a firm foundation. EOP offers a Summer Bridge program as that foundation. The Summer Bridge program will provide freshmen with the tools they need to enter SJSU better prepared for academic excellence.

Get a head start!
The Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) offers selected students the opportunity to participate in the EOP Bridge program. Participation in this structured educational enhancement opportunity is considered a privilege. Student selection is based on academic need, educational background and personal background. Admission to the Summer Bridge program is highly competitive; it is critical that students are fully informed and accept all conditions for participation. Adherence to the program terms and conditions are central to participant success.
A select group of new EOP freshmen students given the opportunity to enter as a cohort and receive services that will develop the writing, math and study skills needed to meet SJSU's writing and math competency requirements. This is a great way to begin at SJSU and be supported throughout your entire first semester. You will meet other students like yourself from throughout California, develop essential study skills and participate in social and recreational activities. With your enthusiasm and a 15 week commitment, you can become one of EOP's Summer Bridge students at SJSU.
Summer Bridge Criteria:
- Have been admitted to SJSU
- Have been accepted into EOP
- Have submitted their SJSU Intent to Enroll
- Have been placed in remedial math and english upon taking their ELM and EPT.
- EOP Special Admits (regardless of ELM and EPT scores)
Summer Bridge accepts a select number of students from those who demonstrate academic need and have:
- Been admitted to both SJSU and SJSU EOP.
- Turned in the 'Intent to Enroll' packet.
- Submitted a completed, current Summer Bridge application.
