The Department of Political Science Presents Its
First On-Line Course:
Are you tired of the parking hassles at San Jose State? Are you interested in Congress? Do you own a computer? If you answered "yes" to these questions, you may be interested in the Political Science Department's first on-line course -- Legislative Process, being offered in Spring 1999.
What is an on-line course? Quite simply, it is a course that you can take almost entirely on your own home computer. The course information is available to you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, meaning that you can study at your own pace and at your own convenience. You can do your research on-line. You submit your papers on-line. You can interact with the professor on-line. In fact, the only thing you CAN'T do on-line is take the exams (sorry -- you have to come to campus for the midterm and the final).
This course is open to anybody -- anywhere in the world. It fulfills the upper-division American Government requirement for SJSU Political Science majors and minors. However, non-majors and even non-SJSU students who are interested in Congress may enroll.
This course will offer the latest in technology-mediated instruction, including streaming video and electronic bulletin boards. However, because this course is technically offered through SJSU's College of Continuing Education, there is a cost of $465. If you are an SJSU student, this cost is in addition to your regular tuition. Please contact Continuing Education (408-924-2619) for additional details.
