This lab investigates conservation of momentum using video analysis of colliding steel balls. A digital video camera is used to capture the motion. The camera sits on the end of a long arm suspended over the floor. Analysis of the video is straightforward using "Logger Pro" on the classroom computers - all steps are outlined in the manual. Each computer in the classroom is connected to a webcam, but for convenience the location of the webcams are grouped so that on each side of the classroom there will be 5 computers but only 3 experiemntal setups.
