Welcome to SJSU Mandarin Bilingual Education Resources Web Site
This web site is designed to provide information and resources for teachers and teacher candidates who are interested in teaching Mandarin Chinese as a foreign language or in a Chinese immersion program. You will find web links that address Chinese language, culture, content standards as well as opportunities for continuous professional development relevant to the K-8 Mandarin Bilingual Teaching Authorization Program.
Since Fall 2007, university and district educators have worked to establish a K-8 Mandarin Bilingual Teaching Authorization Program in the Connie L. Lurie College of Education. SJSU received preliminary approval in Summer 2009. Due to California budget cuts, this program is on hold.
You can help us provide online resources that are helpful to teach and learn Chinese language and culture.
