The purpose of the health care system, of course, is to improve the health and well being of all Americans. Healthy People is a national health promotion and disease prevention program with the goal of improving health, eliminating disparities in health, and improving years and quality of healthy life. In this course we will be discussing how well the health care system as it is today meets the needs of Americans in order to reach these goals. What do you think? What are your observations about how current health care services do or do not positively influence health and well being. If you were the U.S. Health Care Czar, what types of health care agencies would you establish as a priority? What health care indicators would you use to show effectiveness?
