Extra Credit: Updating Shakespeare

Select a scene that you think is important from any of Shakespeare’s plays that we have read for this class.   Rewrite the scene for contemporary audiences so that it emphasizes an important current political or social issue.  You should include a brief (1 paragraph) description of your project (what issue you  had in mind, how your scene frames this issue, etc.).  You might also explain your larger vision, including casting and staging ideas. 

You might wish to work with other students and perform your scene for the class.  If so, let me know so that I can schedule some class time for your performance.
