Write an essay (no fewer than 1,000 words) in which you compare Edwin Abbott’s use of the utopian model in Flatland with Charlotte Perkins Gilman’s use model in Herland.  Hint: Both authors deploy the utopian model in order to critique various aspects of nineteenth-century English society.  What are these aspects?  How does the text critique them?  By way of a conclusion, discuss whether (in your opinion) one author provides a more convincing critique than the other.

Your essays should be typed, double-spaced, stapled, and proofread.  Use a title to center your work.
