Binary Data, Two Independent Groups, Cohort Design, Data Set-up

Data are stored in the form of a binary "exposure" (comparable to an independent variable) and binary outcome ("disease" variable, comparable to a dependent variable). Data are encoded in yes/no (<Y>), text, or numerically form (with 1 = yes and 2 = no). If text codes are used to store data, make certain that the exposed group and diseased group occur alphabetically before the unexposed and non-disease groups, so the 2-by-2 table aligns as expected.
